Qualitative
In this type of analysis the research tends to be more focused on the individual or the Psyche of the Human. Thus this type of research can be found in Social Science fields such as: Psychology, Sociology, and also some types of Anthropology.
Ex: Any study that tends to separate people or objects based on their different qualities.

Quantitative
In this type of analysis the research tends to deal with more number based test such as:  The number of homeless people in a given area in a given time period.  Thus this research method deals with the more general aspects of social behavior, which could include fields of study such as: Anthropology, International Studies and History. 
Ex: Empiricism, Marxism, Phenomenology.
